PORTLAND — Police in Portland say a 19-year-old man has been injured in a shooting along the waterfront.
Sgt. Pete Simpson says officers who responded at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday found the victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital.
Police initially said officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Cinco de Mayo Festival in Waterfront Park. However, Simpson said later that the shooting location was outside the festival and it didn’t appear that the violence was related to the event.
Investigators learned the victim had been involved in a dispute with the shooter, described as a young man who ran from the scene and possibly boarded a light rail train.
