A motor home went up in flames Monday night in rural Camas.

East County Fire & Rescue firefighters were called to 5603 N.E. 300th Court at 9:34 p.m. The owners said they had returned from a trip in the 1999 motor home three days prior and were in the process of cleaning it out. They were inside the house when they heard a loud boom and came outside to find the motor home on fire, according to the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Firefighters had trouble accessing the property where the motor home was parked because it was at the end of a steep, narrow dirt driveway, the fire marshal’s office said. With no nearby hydrants, the fire department had to bring in its own water.

There was too much damage for investigators to determine how and where the fire started.
