Letter: Keep partnership with gallery

The Columbian
Published: May 9, 2015, 5:00pm

I have just learned that Clark College, through its associated student body committee, is moving to propose revoking funds for running the Archer Gallery. This long-standing gallery is a keystone of the art department at Clark College and offers students, faculty, visiting artists, and members of the community the ability to display and view work, discuss ideas, and engage in the process of higher learning.

A valued college offers the experience to appreciate art, music, theater and athletics; it is what separates Clark College from the many professional trade schools in the region. Closing Archer Gallery would be a sloppy decision and a disservice to students, faculty and the people of Clark County.
