ORIENT — A wildfire that started after a logging helicopter crashed in northeast Washington was about 50 percent contained as of Monday morning.

Forest Service officials say firefighters have a line around the fire in Orient, about 90 miles north of Spokane. Crews are still working to ensure the line will hold around the 85 acre wildfire.

The fire started Thursday when a helicopter crashed just after lifting off with a load of logs. The crash happened in an area where trees had been cut and were laying on the ground.
