Central Vancouver — The aerial fight against crime in Vancouver has an updated look.

On May 7, the Vancouver Police Department showed off a new paint job for its portable observation tower, Skywatch. It’s the first paint job the tower has received since the department acquired it in 2008.

Skywatch is used to prevent crime in areas including parking lots or during public events, as the tower offers a bird’s eye view of a large area. It’s regularly staffed by trained volunteers from the Vancouver Neighbors On Watch program.

The new paint job matches department vehicles and includes the department motto and logos.
