An Evergreen High School drama teacher accused of having sex with a student is now scheduled to stand trial on Aug. 3.

Stephanie McCrea, 36, is charged in Clark County Superior Court with third-degree child rape, sexual misconduct with a minor and tampering with a witness.

McCrea is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old boy both at school and at her Vancouver home last winter.

She is free on $40,000 bail, but remains on leave from her job.

The trial had been set to start today. It is not unusual for criminal trials to be postponed at least once as attorneys for both sides gather information and interview potential witnesses.

McCrea is next due in court on July 30 for a trial readiness hearing.
