CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The University of North Carolina says there is no danger to the Chapel Hill campus after an anonymous online threat was posted earlier.

The school’s campus alert website said early Tuesday afternoon that investigators had determined there is no threat to campus safety.

The school says the threat that campus police became aware of Tuesday morning is still under investigation.

UNC issued an alert shortly before 9 a.m. about an anonymous threat that warned against being on campus at 9:49 a.m.

There were no incidents, but the school is still trying to determine who posted the threat, which did not mention a specific location on campus or state the nature of the threat.

Classes were held as usual Tuesday.
