OLYMPIA — State wildlife officials are accepting letters of interest through Nov. 30 for membership on the Master Hunter Advisory Group.
Five volunteer positions will be opening on the 15-member group in April. Members advise the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife on issues and opportunities affecting master hunters the master hunter permit program.
Three of the vacancies must come from counties outside Southwest Washington, but two of the slots can come from any county in the state.
Applicants are asked to explain why they want to be a member, their qualifications and how they can help the group achieve its goals.
Letters of interest must include telephone number, email address, mailing address, county of residence and permission to conduct a criminal background check, at no cost to applicants.

The application process is open to all certified master hunters with no ongoing legal proceedings or convictions in the last 10 years under the state’s fish and wildlife enforcement code.
The group meets four times per year, usually in Ellensburg.
