Clark County will provide information about its new hOur Impact program at 6:30 p.m. Nov 18 at the library in Battle Ground, 1207 S.E. Eighth Way. The hOur Impact program allows community members to exchange skills or services among one another without any money changing hands; the services are considered charitable acts. Clark County seeks to fill an opening for a three-year term on the Community Action Advisory Board. The opening is for District 1, roughly north of 78th Street between Interstate 5 and Northwest Lakeshore Avenue, and north of 99th Street on the east side of I-5. The nine-member board makes recommendations regarding local government funding for basic and essential housing, health, and safety needs. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is hosting an informational meeting for the NOW (Neighbors on Watch) citizen volunteer program at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at the West Precinct, 505 N.W. 179th St. Ridgefield. Clark County residents interested in enhancing the livability of their neighborhoods are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn about the program, application process and training. Ridgefield School District invites interested residents to join the district’s Capital Facilities Advisory Committee, to analyze and make capital facility recommendations to the board of directors. The committee’s first meeting is 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 17 at Ridgefield High School, and the work will continue through March, with recommendations presented to the board for consideration in April. The committee is open to district staff, students, local public officials, and business partners.
