Letter: Danger too close for comfort

By John Collins, Vancouver

I totally agree with Russell Freeland’s Nov. 2 letter “Take a moment to imagine,” regarding the Tesoro-Savage oil terminal. I would hate to see a flaming river of oil heading down into any of the dams along the Columbia River. These trains will be only two blocks from Esther Short Park, where during the summer over 5,000 can be there on a Thursday night. All the other events held there would be in danger also. And our City Hall is just two blocks away.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
