Letter: Secure our borders

In light of the events in Paris, we see the first curfew since 1944 and … get this … France is closing their borders. I ask anyone to make a claim that we are capable to close our borders in the event of this type of violence? Please, Democrats, Republicans and Independents, get real and “just do it.” Stop the conversation — it is not just about illegal immigration — secure the border first. Can anyone guarantee sleeper cells are not here, and, if so, how did they get here?

It is not just about immigration. Gunmen killed more than 100 people and they don’t have a Second Amendment in France. No one inside had a weapon to suppress fire. Again, it is not about citizens with guns, it is the opposite.

9/11 was our wake up. We were united for a period of time, flying flags, standing when the National Anthem played, respecting our police and supporting our military.

It grieves me to sense that we are so close to realizing that chaos will happen … in borders, culture and country. Europe is self-destructing. We must stand resolute that monumental change is occurring. We will be drawn in. At the next event, we will call for exact revenge not punishment.
