Letter: Scaring seniors a dishonest tactic

By Doris Lemire, Vancouver

Clark County Councilor David Madore’s comments on “Grandma” and his proposed 2 percent property tax decrease were grossly exaggerated. I am a grandma and a senior citizen who recently applied and qualified for a senior citizen discount on my property taxes. Another option was to defer taxes and allow a lien on the property, which is paid back from the sale of the property.

Scaring seniors into thinking they will lose their property when there are programs out there to assist them is a pretty low tactic to use on older people.

It does not speak well of the integrity of Madore.
