A suspected intoxicated driver caused a rollover crash late Sunday on Interstate 5 south of Woodland, according to police.

Ricky Owens, 48, of Centralia was driving a 1997 Honda Passport north on the highway at about 11:30 p.m. when he attempted to change lanes and overcorrected, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The vehicle went off the road and up an embankment before rolling and coming to rest in the center lanes, troopers said.

Owens was injured and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he was listed in satisfactory condition Monday.

Investigators say that speed was a factor, and that Owens will face charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, driving with a suspended license, second-degree negligent driving and felony possession of marijuana.
