Letter: Bearing arms is effective defense

In his Oct. 5 letter “Too much ‘defending’ is worrisome,” Howard Leighty said when he confronted one of the patriots defending the military recruiters, who are not allowed to carry, that he didn’t see any terrorists. Dang. Guess it’s working.

Too bad there weren’t any on July 20 at the military recruiting center in Chattanooga, Tenn. There most likely wouldn’t have been any terrorist show up there either. If they had, the “super patriots” would have made a difference in the shooting of five service members there, don’t you think? The outcome would have been surprisingly different.

Keep up the good work guys.
