Victoria King has joined the board of directors of The Free Clinic of Southwest Washington. King, a Camas resident, is the senior vice president and chief nursing officer for PeaceHealth, which includes PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. She also is a co-founder of the Global Nursing Conference.

Diane Stevens has been appointed to the executive committee of Furry Friends Cat Rescue as director of public relations and marketing. She has been an active volunteer for the organization since November 2014 and has extensive experience in the printing and publishing industry. Furry Friends is a nonprofit organization in Clark County that rescues and finds homes for cats and kittens.

New businesses

Sports Authority will hold a grand opening from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at its new location, 8002 N.E. Sixth Ave. in Hazel Dell. The celebration includes promotions, giveaways and a chance to meet U.S. Women’s Soccer midfielder Megan Rapinoe, who will appear from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Regular hours for the store will be 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
