The city of Vancouver is holding a public forum from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday for a discussion about how liveable neighborhoods and truck traffic can coexist in West Vancouver.

With its Westside Mobility Strategy, the city is trying to develop a way to allow for “continued job growth in Vancouver’s western industrial area and port while maximizing the livability of neighborhoods and mixed-used commercial areas along travel corridors,” according to a city press release.

At Thursday’s meeting, project staff will present information and then hold a discussion with meeting participants about community values; a balanced mobility approach to planning road improvements; and specific road network management concepts.

The meeting will be at Vancouver City Hall, 615 W. Sixth St. It is open to any residents, property owners, business owners or industry representatives interested in transportation in West Vancouver.

For more information, contact project manager Patrick Sweeney at 360-487-7954 or patrick.sweeney@cityofvancouver.us.
