“Think happy thoughts.”
“They’re better for you than blueberries.”
This is what I found on the A8 back page in my Oct. 3 morning paper. This was a full-page ad in our daily newspaper, in prime advertising space. I read it again. Yes, this is The Columbian.
I noticed it is courtesy of The Columbian and thejoyteam.org. What is going on? I am used to seeing this sort of statement in a self-help book or an Oprah magazine, but not in a daily newspaper. My thanks to The Columbian and thejoyteam.org.
I sat and pondered what I had just read. Why not? What if I consciously thought happy thoughts several times a day? Would I be a happier person? Most certainly. Would I feel better about myself? Again, yes. I find that I am constantly drawn to persons who are positive in nature, so could this possibly make me more like those people? It sure would be worth a try.
All it requires is a small change in daily thought patterns. Insert a few happy thoughts per day until it becomes a habit. I wrote “think happy thoughts” on a piece of tape and put in on the visor of my car. I have noticed that when behind the wheel, I’m in need sometimes of such a reminder.
What I have I got to lose? Think happy thoughts.
