Authorities on Monday located the 16-year-old who disappeared after giving birth in the Everett area in September, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives are still searching for her newborn.

Leah Lund was located around 2 p.m. in the South Everett area, according to a sheriff’s spokeswoman. She went missing early last month and is believed to have given birth to a girl without medical help between Sept. 10 and 18.

The sheriff’s office earlier this month issued a notice warning that the infant could be in danger. Authorities at that time said Lund is believed to be a heroin user and could be homeless.
