VANCOUVER — As the days become shorter this fall, gazebos and shelters at several Vancouver community parks will be closed to the public from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The new hours will go into effect Monday until March 13. They are applicable for structures at Esther Short Park, Leverich Park, Marshall Community Park, Fisher Basin Community Park, Shumway Park, LeRoy Haagen Memorial Community Park, Evergreen Park, Marine Community Park, David Douglas Community Park and Arnada Park, according to a city press release.

Signs will be posted on the structures. Longer hours will resume on March 13, soon after the daylight saving time change.

Facilities at Esther Short Park may occasionally be open during the evening this winter for permitted special events and programs. For a listing of parks and hours of operation, go to www.cityofvancouver.us/parksrec.
