PORTLAND — Portland police arrested a United Parcel Service worker accused of stealing packages he was supposed to sort.

Sgt. Pete Simpson said Tuesday the investigation began when Microsoft products were not arriving at their final destinations.

Detectives found that 21-year-old Chad Love was removing packages from the sorting line at the UPS facility on Swan Island and hiding them in a restroom. Police say he took the packages home after work and sold the stolen goods to online buyers.

Love was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of first-degree theft.
