Letter: There’s hope in our future leaders

By Howard Barkley, Vancouver
Published: September 15, 2015, 6:00am

As a World War II veteran, I have read the many letters thanking me for the service in the military and providing our homes and friends a safe place to live, work and play.

After reading the many letters I received in the mail from students of many schools about the country, I worry I won’t live long enough to watch them turn into great young men and women who take over the reins of keeping the best place to live free and happy.

Thank you from a 92-year-old veteran.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
