Clark soccer sweeps Rogue Valley

Damian Garcia scored on either side of halftime as the Clark College men’s soccer team beat visiting Rogue Valley 2-0.

Garcia scored in the 44th minute with an assist from Octavio Hermosillo and in the first minute of the second half off a Fernando Ibanez assist. Clark goalkeeper Marco Gonzalez needed to make one save in the shutout.

Clark coach Brett Jacobs called it a “disciplined and dominant” performance from the Penguins, noting his team had 14 shots on target and 75 percent of possession.

Clark improved to 2-0 in NWAC South Division play, 3-2-1 overall. The Penguins host the Portland Panthers at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Clark College women 11, Rogue Valley 0 — Brenna Bogle scored four goals, all in the first half, as the Clark women easily won.
