Sifton — The Heritage High School ProStart Culinary team cooked up something good when it took second place at the National Guard High School culinary competition at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma. Five teams from high schools around the state competed. Heritage’s team, made up of Katarina Breithaupt, Dallas Brock, Kyle Scott and Michael James, was the only team from Southwest Washington. ProStart is a national two-year curriculum designed to teach high school students the culinary and management skills needed for a career in the restaurant and food service industry.
