ARIEL — Yale Valley Library District, working with Fort Vancouver Regional Library District, is developing plans and seeking input for a new library in Yale Valley.

The public is invited to a discussion with Karl Johannsen of JA! Architects, at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at Yale Elementary, 11842 Lewis River Road, Ariel.

The meeting will provide community feedback on the future library.

The district was formed in 2003 in the Yale precinct northeast of Woodland in Cowlitz County.

The new library will provide a dedicated building with expanded hours, free Internet and Wi-Fi, computer access and meeting space, as well as programs and workshops.

Limited library services in Yale Valley currently are provided through Yale Library Express, open from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays at Yale Elementary.

Yale Valley Library District contracts with the Fort Vancouver district for services, which includes access to more than 750,000 items as well as all of the services available at www.fvrl.org.
