Prep highlights: Battle Ground’s Boyd tosses perfect game

Battle Ground’s Parker Boyd pitched a six-inning perfect game as the Tigers beat Heritage 11-0 in the 4A Greater St. Helens League softball game Friday.

Boyd had 12 strikeouts in her second no-hitter of the week. She struck out 15 in a no-hitter against Skyview on Monday. Only an error prevented that game from being perfect.

Haley Buck went 4 for 4 with a home run and two RBI, Alexis Morrison was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI; Morgan Stradley was 3 for with a double and home run, and Kylie Smith had a home run and three RBI for Battle Ground (10-1, 4-0).

Stars of the day

• Lexi Burney, Evergreen volleyball, signed a letter of intent to play at Jackson State in Mississippi.

• Damon Casetta-Stubbs, King’s Way Christian baseball, pitched five-plus innings, then hit a two-run homer wins it in bottom of 10th to lift the Knights to a 3-1 win over La Center.

• Lauren Skelly, Columbia River girls tennis, came back from a set down to win at No. 1 singles over Prairie’s Josie Sullivan 4-6, 6-0, 7-5 in the Chieftains 6-0 team victory.

• Kayla Moore, Skyview softball, went 3 for 3 with a double, home run and three RBI as Skyview rallied to beat Camas 5-4.

• Taylor Adams, Camas baseball, 2 for 2 and go-ahead double in bottom of sixth to lift Camas to a 3-2 win over Heritage.

• Paige Forsberg, Washougal softball, threw a one-hitter in a 2-1 win over Woodland.

• Dakota Pioveson, Evergreen softball, had two hits, including a home run, and drove in two runs in a win over Mountain View.

• Erik Brainard, Camas soccer, had both of his team’s assists, handing Union its first league loss of the season.

• Emily Seekins, Hockinson softball, had a team-high three RBI in a win over Mark Morris.

• Jaren Packl, Ridgefield soccer, scored a goal and assisted on another as the Spudders beat Woodland 3-0.
