Spraying for gypsy moths begins Sunday

1-mile radius near Port of Vancouver target of treatment

The Port of Vancouver and parts of the Fruit Valley neighborhood will be sprayed on Sunday to keep what is arguably the most loathed invasive insect in the United States from gaining a foothold in the Pacific Northwest.

Contractors working for the Oregon Department of Agriculture will spray insecticide in a 1-mile radius near the Port of Vancouver, where the city’s one Asian gypsy moth was found.
