LONG BEACH — Nine days of razor clam digging on Long Beach Peninsula begins Wednesday.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife approved the digs after marine toxin tests showed the clams are safe to eat.

Low tides for the nine days are: Wednesday, 6:25 a.m., 0.6 feet; Thursday, 7:01 a.m., 0.2 feet;  Friday, 7:35 a.m., 0.0 feet; April 23, 8:08 a.m., -0.2 feet; April 24, 8:42 p.m., -0.2 feet; April 25, 9:18 a.m., -0.2 feet; April 26, 9:56 a.m., -0.1 feet; April 27, 10:39 a.m., 0.1 feet, and April 28, 11:28 a.m., 0.3 feet.

State officials also are proposing three days of digging in early May. Those dates are May 6 through 8.

Diggers are required to keep the first 15 clams dug. Each digger’s clams must be kept in a separate container.

Diggers age 15 and older must have a 2016-17 license. A three-day razor clam license costs $9.70. A seasonal razor clam license costs $14.10.
