SEATTLE — A Seattle judge has sentenced a woman to life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing six of her family members in Carnation in 2007.

Michele Anderson was found guilty in March of six counts of first-degree aggravated murder after a five-week trial in King County Superior Court.

KOMO-TV reports the 37-year-old did not speak at her sentencing hearing in Seattle on Thursday.

Life without parole was the only punishment she could receive after jurors found her guilty of aggravated murder.

Under state law aggravated murder can result in one of two sentences, life in prison or the death penalty. Last summer, King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg removed capital punishment as an option in the case.

His decision came after the jury hearing the case against Anderson’s former boyfriend, Joseph McEnroe, did not send him to Washington’s death row.

Both have said they will appeal their convictions.
