Letter: If you use oil, expect to store it

By Tom Nelson, Vancouver

I attended the public hearing at Clark Collage on the sighting of the Tesoro-Savage oil terminal in the Port of Vancouver. The same 150 or so “red shirts” showed up. The protesters wearing red shirts truly believe that they speak for all of us in the county. They talk among themselves, hug each other, pat each other on the back, congratulate each other as to how brilliant they are at stopping another worthwhile project.

Local business owner Don Orange appears to be more or less a leader in this disorderly group of look-alikes. I have attended several of these hearings and have noticed that Orange arrives in a large diesel truck. I have nothing against diesel trucks nor do I know if Orange owns this truck, but I am confused as to how a person who is against oil-by-rail can drive such a large oil-burning truck? I would think that he would drive a battery-powered small vehicle?
