Woodland teacher wins James Madison fellowship

$24,000 award will help Ridgefield grad get advanced degree

WOODLAND — Katie Klaus’ junior history class just voted Hitler for U.S. president.

Of course, they didn’t know they were voting for him.

They thought they were voting for a man named Samuel Jones, a 42-year-old noncommissioned officer, twice decorated for bravery.

Jones, Klaus describes, is one of four candidates running for U.S.
