We do know that a lot of that money is going into the billion-dollar mole hole in Seattle to replace Highway 99, which is now $200,000-plus over budget and some folks have filed a $11 million dollar lawsuit against it.
We also know that a lot of the gas tax money is subsidizing the cost of the ferry boats in Puget Sound so the commuters that work on the mainland can get to and from their home in the islands.
I believe that, instead of voting for higher gas taxes, our state needs to adjust their priorities so that the southwest part of the state of Washington can benefit from the current very high tax.
