A prediabetes class will be from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 13 at The Vancouver Clinic, 700 N.E. 87th Ave., Vancouver.

The two-hour class is designed for anyone who has been diagnosed by a health care provider with prediabetes, impaired fasting glucose, impaired glucose tolerance or metabolic syndrome.

Participants will learn about prediabetes; create a meal plan with good health, lifestyle and personal goals; make a personal physical activity plan; learn how to reduce fat while keeping flavor in their diet; learn how to interpret a food label and develop a plan for reasonable weight loss, if needed.

There is a $25 fee for the class, and preregistration is required.

For information or to register, call The Vancouver Clinic’s endocrinology department at 360-882-2778.
