Letter: Fishing has not been plentiful

By Ryan Krause, VANCOUVER

Local fishing this year has been terrible. Even with a high number of salmon and steelhead predicted to run this year, and numbers increasing over Bonneville Dam, catching the elusive fish couldn’t be more difficult.

I’m not sure if it’s been the warmer weather making the fish harder to catch, but everyone I talk to has said the same thing: hardly anyone’s catching fish. I’ve been lucky (or skillful, but I doubt it) to have caught a few steelhead at Frenchman’s Bar. I hope the numbers pick up soon and we can all have a plentiful fishing season.
