Letter: Columnist has positive impact

By David Bates, VANCOUVER

A belated congratulations to Columbian Editor Lou Brancaccio for winning first-place columnist for large newspapers.

Brancaccio’s relentless reporting on the “stupid stuff” activities by the M&M Boys, and especially David Madore’s foibles, had two important effects: It caused the county to adopt a much better management structure, and it resulted in driving the M&M Boys out of their county jobs. Extra bonuses will be much reduced friction and eliminating the high expenses of Madore’s stupid stuff.

The only negative is, what can Brancaccio do for an encore without Madore?
