Camas – Harvey Steele, a retired antique specialist with the U.S. Treasury Department, will lead a presentation about archaeology on the Columbia River at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Camas Police Station, 2100 N.E. Third Ave., Camas.

Steele joined the Oregon Archaeological Society in 1960, and spoke to the Camas-Washougal Historical Society in 1996 and 2007 about the archaeological work at Lady Island.

“We have a lot more information from surveys of the beach in Washougal and additional investigation of Lady Island,” Steele said in a release from the society. “We know more about what really happened.”

The event is free. For more information, visit www.2rhm.com.
