PHILOMATH, Ore. — Philomath High School may have to cancel more football games as a result of an ongoing investigation into allegations of misconduct by players.
The Corvallis Gazette-Times reports that the school has already canceled the football team’s Sept. 2 home opener, but may also have to cancel two nonleague games because of Oregon School Activities Association rules on practices.
All football activities have been suspended through Aug. 31 because of the ongoing criminal investigation into conduct that took place at a summer camp at Camp Rilea in Warrenton in which 35 players took part. Members of the coaching staff have been put on paid administrative leave.
OSAA rules require three weeks of practices before games but because of the suspension, there likely will not be time for that.
