ROSEBURG — Timber companies in Oregon are closing access to their lands due to fire risks.
The News-Review reports that Roseburg Forest Products, D.R. Johnson in Riddle and Lonerock Timber in Camas Valley have either closed or reduced access to their lands until the hot and potentially combustible weather subsides.
Roseburg Forest Products released a statement Monday saying its closure will remain in effect indefinitely.
Douglas County was hit by near-record temperature weather over the weekend, prompting local firefighting officials to declare “extreme” fire conditions.
