Letter: School board should listen

By Linda Stauffer, Vancouver
Published: August 30, 2016, 6:00am

At a recent Evergreen Public Schools board meeting, our elected members, with a possible teachers strike going to happen, chose to have dinner instead of listening to parents. I, like many parents, had hoped that they would have been willing to listen to us. I was more than disappointed that the school board chose not to listen.

The school board was elected to represent the interests of the community. By closing the meeting and refusing to hear us, they were not listening or representing us.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
