The Ridgefield School District does a great job delivering high-quality education with limited funding. Student test scores are among the best in Clark County while our school property taxes are among the lowest.
Maintaining strong student performance can be a challenge as more families move here. Despite recent facility improvements (completed on time and on budget) classrooms are full, portable classrooms have returned, and lunch rooms and gyms are over-scheduled.
The district’s capital facilities plan, developed by community stakeholders, presents a cost-effective approach to providing facilities. Projects funded by the proposed bond include measures that will save costs, including an expanded middle school that will automatically create capacity at the two elementary schools and a partnership with the city of Ridgefield that will save both organizations millions of dollars on site improvements.
Even with the added cost of the proposed bond, the district’s property taxes will be among the lowest in Clark County.
Please vote “yes” on the school bond on Feb. 14 and support quality education, a community-based facility plan and cost-effective projects.
