Ridgefield — The Ridgefield Family Resource Center, which is located between Union Ridge Elementary School and View Ridge Middle School, was awarded a $2,000 Found Money grant from Our Kids of Southwest Washington.

The center provides emergency relief services for Ridgefield children and families in need by providing food, clothing and toiletries, as well as raising awareness of available assistance services in the surrounding area. The money will be used so students can purchase gifts for the upcoming holidays.

“The idea of the grant is to give organizations the opportunity to provide an activity that they would not normally be able to do due to funding,” Chris Poppert, director of the center, said in a release from the school district.
