MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee police officer who killed a black man in August fired the fatal shot after the man had thrown away his gun, according to court documents released Thursday.
Dominique Heaggan-Brown is charged with reckless homicide in the Aug. 13 shooting death of Sylville Smith, which sparked two days of riots.
