Letter: Keep oil terminal out of Vancouver

By Claire Johnston, VANCOUVER
Published: December 29, 2016, 6:00am

The decision on the Tesoro-Savage/Vancouver Energy oil terminal is near. I hope that Governor Jay Inslee will make the right decision and reject the application for the oil terminal. The Mosier, Ore., oil train fire was a sobering example of what could occur here in Vancouver if this project actually gets built. Many organizations and communities have voiced strong opposition to the project. Our water, air, region and businesses will be adversely affected if Tesoro-Savage gets its way. Write to the governor, or call his office, and urge him to do the right thing and keep the oil terminal from becoming a reality in Vancouver.
