Hudson’s Bay — The School of Piano Technology for the Blind received a $5,000 grant from the Vancouver Energy Community Fund for the school’s first phase of the three-phrase Computer and Technology Upgrade Plan. The money will be used for the purchase of two new computers and accompanying software, the purchase and installation of a sonic firewall system, two wireless routers and a complete rewiring of the building’s computer system. “The School of Piano Technology for the Blind is committed to remaining up-to-date and in-step with the technological world,” Cheri Martin, executive director, said in a release from the school. “Our students, both current and future, all of whom are blind or visually-impaired, will be directly and positively impacted through the funding of this grant.”
