Letter: Education is worth supporting

Cheers to The Columbian for its continued support of our schools. Cheers to the patrons of Vancouver Public Schools for their dedication in support of our children.

Jeers to the legislators who, after taking their oath of office, failed to exercise their constitutional obligation to fully fund education as required in Article IX, Section I, of the Constitution of the State of Washington.

Cheers to my German immigrant father who wrote letters to The Columbian in support of our children until he died in 1965 at the age of 85. He said “Support your schools; education is the only thing they can’t take away from you.” I agree — vote “yes” on the upcoming school levy.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
