Actor Charlie Sheen joined Vancouver-based biotechnology firm CEO Nader Pourhassan on Wednesday’s “The Dr. Oz Show” for a discussion of CytoDyn’s HIV treatment, now under development.

Sheen, who is HIV-positive, is considering participating in a trial of CytoDyn’s PRO 140 treatment. TV host Dr. Mehmet Oz said the show would follow Sheen throughout the trials for the new drug, a viral-entry inhibitor intended to protect healthy cells from viral infection. Before starting the trial, Sheen must be screened to see if he qualifies to participate, CytoDyn said.
