Hazel Dell — The Southwest Washington chapter of the Seahawks Booster Club presented a check for $2,204 to Lynn Miller, board chair of the nonprofit Bridge the Gap. The booster club raised the funds in six months to help Bridge the Gap’s mission of serving children in foster care in Clark and Skamania counties. Two members of the booster club, Deanna and Larry Bevans, are foster parents themselves. Bridge the Gap focuses on providing enriching childhood experiences to children in foster care that they might otherwise miss out on due to a lack of means. The group provides the money that allows foster children to engage in after-school programs and lessons and tutoring, as well as provide them with clothing and toys. Bridge the Gap also works closely with the Vancouver office of the Washington State Department of Children and Family Services.
