Letter: Hypocrisy politically motivated

First of all, rest in peace Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. By all accounts, he was a decent man. It’s unfortunate that his judicial decisions were not so much.

Barely an hour after learning of Scalia’s death, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., essentially told President Obama not to bother nominating a replacement for Scalia, since “this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president.”

Interestingly enough, in 1988, the final year of Ronald Reagan’s presidency, Anthony Kennedy was confirmed to a Supreme Court seat by the Senate after just 65 days of deliberation, with McConnell voting to confirm. So, which is it, McConnell?

I will be waiting with bated breath to see if the so-called “liberal media” alerts the nation to this obscene instance of politically motivated hypocrisy.
