Four face drug charges after crash with sheriff

DAYTON — Bail has been set for four people charged with dealing methamphetamine after they collided with Columbia County Sheriff Rocky Miller and sent him to the hospital.

The Walla Walla Union-Bulletin reports the four were captured at gunpoint following Thursday’s collision.

Alex Luis Ahumada and Elijio Antonio Mendoza were charged with possession of meth with intent to sell. Their bail is $150,000. Ahumada also faces Idaho charges for probation violation.

Bail for Geovanni Sanchez is $100,000.

Julia Lee Richardson, accused of driving the getaway car, faces the drug charge and an attempting to elude an officer. Her bail is $150,000.

Miller was treated and released from the hospital with a minor cut on his forehead that resulted from a plunge down an embankment in his patrol vehicle. He used his SUV to stop the suspects’ car as they left the scene.
