Emilly Moore hit a 3-pointer with six seconds left to lead the Mountain View girls basketball team to a 43-40 win over Union in a 4A Greater St. Helens League game on Friday.

A tight game throughout was knotted at 40-40 when Union’s Mailia Aguigui hit a 3-pointer with 24 seconds left.

But Moore answered that 3-pointer with one of her own for the win.

“They made a big shot,” Mountain View coach Mat Clark said. “We just happened to get the last big shot.”

Moore led the Thunder with 13 points, and Hailey Hartney added 12 in what Clark called a solid team effort.

“Even though we only had five players score, there was a lot of defensive stuff that doesn’t show up in the box score,” Clark said. “Tough defense is something the girls have added to their identity this season.”

Abby Forsyth had 11 points to lead the Titans.
