SEATTLE — Authorities say an alleged assault reported near campus Saturday morning prompted a brief lockdown of Seattle Pacific University.
Seattle Police spokesman Detective Patrick Michaud says police received a call from a woman who reported that someone had a rifle. He says officers arrived within a few minutes but did not find anything. They couldn’t corroborate her story and no arrests were made.
Seattle Pacific University spokeswoman Tracy Norlen confirmed in an email that the campus was placed in a temporary lockdown. She says no university students were involved.
In June 2014, a 19-year-old student was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting at Seattle Pacific University.
